Role: Sourcing Agent / Supply Chain Specialist

Duration: Perm

Location: Winchester, KY 40391

Top Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field
  • ISM certification (CPSM or CSM)
  • 5+ years of experience of service procurement
  • Professional working experience in indirect procurement
  • Basic knowledge of business law, commercial terms and conditions, and related legal issues.

Position Summary

The Sourcing Agent is responsible for managing low to mid-range sourcing requirements, primarily for materials and less complex services. This role supports the development and execution of strategic category plans to optimize cost savings, service excellence, diversity spend, and total cost of ownership. The Sourcing Agent leads supplier and client relationship management, ensures policy compliance, and drives process efficiencies through strategic sourcing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional teams through the sourcing process, including spend analysis, needs assessment, benchmarking, and business case development.
  • Identify cost savings, supplier consolidation, and standardization opportunities.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies; collaborate with Legal and Risk Management to mitigate contract risks.
  • Maintain market and industry knowledge; consider environmental impacts in sourcing decisions.
  • Build and sustain partnerships with internal clients; ensure alignment with Supply Chain Policy and best practices.
  • Administer contracts and manage supplier performance, including change orders and contract closeouts.
  • Ensure project timelines are met and monitor completion dates.
  • Utilize ERP sourcing tools and work management systems effectively.
  • Qualify new and existing suppliers; manage contract releases and reduce lead times through automation.
  • Assist in budget development and advise senior managers on contractual matters.
  • Address supplier performance issues, invoice resolutions, and process improvements.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • ISM certification (CPSM or CSM) required within four (4) years of employment.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong knowledge of bid specifications, contracts, and legal terminology.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and understanding of economic fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in personal computing and ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft).

Working Conditions
