The Sun Prairie Chamber of Commerce serves as the Destination Marketing Organization for Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Our organization is committed to supporting local businesses and promoting the community as a destination for tourism, events, and economic development.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Tourism Director at the Sun Prairie Chamber. The Tourism Director provides financial oversite and is the face and driving promotional force. Develop and lead marketing initiatives that enhance Sun Prairie’s visibility as a destination. This includes managing a comprehensive tourism marketing plan, media relations, overseeing brand assets, promoting events that attract visitors, and supporting programs that generate overnight stays. The Tourism Director collaborates with local partners, media and social media influencers, manages grants, ensures efficient use of tourism room tax dollars and the Chamber’s tourism-focused budget items, including Sun Prairie Corn Fest marketing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, hospitality & tourism, or a related field.
• 5-7 years’ experience in tourism marketing or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media, and content creation.
• Proven success with public & media relations.
• Budget management and grant writing experience required.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Knowledge of Sun Prairie and the greater tourism landscape is a plus.
