Job Description: Senior/Principal Informatics Specialist

We have a long-term onsite contract opportunity for a Senior Informatics Consultant . This role is critical and requires strong experience in Pharma/Biotech —candidates without this background will not be considered.

Target Pay Rate: $120–$150/hour (W2 or C2C)

Location: South San Francisco – Onsite, 5 days/week

Contract Type: Long-term (12+ months), with potential extensions.

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, onsite in South San Francisco.

Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Informatics Specialist to join a dynamic research environment. In this pivotal role, you will maintain and evolve a robust informatics ecosystem that underpins scientific research, including assay quality control, compound data management, and preclinical data integration.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows, implement innovative tools, and lead initiatives that support scientific decision-making through advanced data solutions and automation. Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Development & Maintenance:
• Support and expand the research informatics infrastructure to meet evolving R&D needs.
• Technology Integration:
• Implement emerging technologies to optimize the Design-Make-Test-Analyze (DMTA) cycle.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
• Partner with scientists, data engineers, and IT teams to translate research goals into actionable informatics solutions.
• Data Capture & Integrity:
• Lead initiatives to capture, synchronize, and validate high-quality data from preclinical experiments, including concentration-response assays.
• Tool Utilization & System Integration:
• Work across platforms including CDD Vault, AWS Glue, Titian Mosaic, Certara D360, Optibrium StarDrop, Schrodinger LiveDesign, and internal tracking systems.
• Technical Project Leadership:
• Drive technical projects involving BioChemUDM and AWS infrastructure from concept to completion.
• Automation & Scalability:
• Design and implement automated solutions using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Machine Learning Collaboration:
• Partner with internal teams to deploy predictive models across AWS Aurora and third-party platforms.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in a Pharma or Biotech setting— required .

Technical Expertise:

• Proficient in Pipeline Pilot , Python , and Unix shell scripting .
• Deep understanding of scientific data, lifecycle and informatics best practices.

Certifications (preferred):

• AWS Certified (Practitioner, Solutions Architect, Data Engineer, DevOps)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
