Our client is a popular and trendy girls apparel brand. This role is on site 5 days a week on Long Island

This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the right products are available at the right time and in the right quantities to meet customer demand . You will act as a bridge between design, production, and sales, coordinating activities like product sourcing, line planning, and sales analysis.

Senior Merchandiser Responsibilities:

• Drive business performance of merchandise categories through early planning and strategy implementation.
• Responsible from conception to completion working with design/development/tech/production team and having a complete ability to negotiate prices with the factories.
• Partner with Design on product assortment and develop line plan to achieve and exceed financial goals.
• Strong fashion trend knowledge.
• Analyze sales data to identify trends, predict demand, and adjust merchandising strategies accordingly
• plan and develop the product line, considering factors like pricing, quantities, and sales forecasts.
• work with designers and sourcing teams to ensure products align with market trends and the brand's aesthetic
• Source raw materials, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure quality standards are met.
• Select key items and develop a seasonal plan that utilizes historical performance and current business data.
• Manage in-season business by analyzing sales information to identify opportunities for increasing sales and improving margins.
• Lead cross-functional meetings to review product selling, issues with deliveries, and potential liabilities.
• Determine solutions to ensure timely and consistent flow of merchandise.
• Conduct patterning activities to understand the competition; shop and conduct regular scans of benchmark competitors to identify opportunities and challenges for in-season business and future season line planning.

Senior Merchandiser Qualifications:

• 5 – 7 years of related work experience in Merchandising/Buying
• Strong financial acumen and retail math skills
• Acute sense of brand and customer intimacy
• High taste level with proven talent to envision and interpret fashion trends
• Strategic and analytical thinker with intellectual agility
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Proven ability to identify, develop and retain top talent
