About the Role
The Senior Director of Appraisal Services plays a pivotal role in Keystone Valuations’ continued growth and operational excellence. This position is responsible for leading the appraisal team with technical expertise, driving strategic team development, and optimizing operational efficiency. Acting as a key advisor for complex valuation matters, this role alleviates the expertise burden from executive leadership while ensuring Keystone’s reputation for high-quality appraisals and industry-leading standards. This leader will oversee team training, workflow processes, and big-picture hiring strategies while managing critical operational functions such as workflow supervision, report quality control, and the ongoing evolution of Keystone’s appraisal processes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Expertise
● Serve as a senior technical authority on complex or high-stakes valuation assignments.
● Support appraisers and analysts with guidance on unique or challenging valuation scenarios.
● Provide high-level review and approval of key reports, ensuring adherence to Keystone’s standards.
● Collaborate with the VP of Sales and CEO regarding RE industry strategies.
● Act as a mentor and knowledge resource for the appraisal team.
Team Leadership & Training
● Oversee and enhance team training programs to ensure continued professional development.
● Lead firm-wide appraisal methodology discussions and skill-building workshops.
● Develop structured career paths for Keystone’s appraisal team to drive growth and retention.
● Support the Appraisal Manager in coaching and workflow management.
Operational & Strategic Oversight
● Supervise and refine dashboard reporting and workflow optimization on Monday.com.
● Own data integrity, team productivity metrics, and appraisal pipeline tracking.
● Drive big-picture production hiring strategy, ensuring the right talent mix for future growth.
● Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
Quality Control & Compliance
● Ensure all valuation work meets MAI standards, regulatory requirements, and Keystone’s internal quality benchmarks.
● Drive continuous process refinement to uphold excellence in appraisal deliverables.
● Partner with leadership to enhance risk management and compliance oversight.
Leadership & Collaboration
● Serve as a bridge between executive leadership and the appraisal team, ensuring alignment of goals.
● Work closely with COO and CEO on firm-wide strategic initiatives.
● Foster a high-performance culture that values innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
Qualifications
● MAI designation required with 15+ years of commercial appraisal experience, with an established record of a high standard of excellence and a wide variety of appraisal experience.
Required Skills
● Strong leadership experience in an appraisal firm, department, or qualified appraisal services environment.
● Proven ability to manage teams, train staff, and optimize operations.
● Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Preferred Skills
● Experience with dashboard reporting, process improvement, and workflow automation.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. Bonus incentives will be part of the compensation structure, with final details discussed during the hiring process. Future participation in profit sharing and executive-level incentives may be considered based on performance and tenure.
