Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Quality Improvement Manager to join our leadership team. This role is critical in supporting and advancing our integrated model of care, with a strong emphasis on value-based contracts, payer negotiations, and measurable performance improvement. The ideal candidate will be passionate about quality, highly analytical, and experienced in the business and clinical aspects of pediatric and behavioral health integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives across our integrated pediatric and behavioral health services, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive success under value-based and risk contracts by leveraging financial and clinical data to achieve top-decile quality, cost, and utilization outcomes.
  • Negotiate, analyze, and optimize payer contracts —especially value-based and risk-sharing agreements—to align incentives and deliver organizational growth.
  • Serve as the key liaison between clinical teams, administrative leadership, and payer partners to operationalize contract requirements and meet quality and financial targets.
  • Implement and monitor improvement strategies using data-driven methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), national benchmarks, and rapid-cycle improvement principles.
  • Coach and mentor teams on understanding quality metrics, interpreting performance data, and achieving ambitious scorecard indicators.
  • Collaborate on root cause analyses, action plans, and regulatory site visits , ensuring continuous readiness and best-in-class quality outcomes.
  • Stay ahead of trends in integrated care, quality management, and healthcare economics to keep AKPBH at the forefront of pediatric and behavioral health excellence.

Value-Based & Risk Contract Focus

  • Deep familiarity with the economics, finance, and operations of value-based care and risk arrangements.
  • Demonstrated track record in negotiating and managing value-based contracts (e.g., shared savings, pay-for-performance, downside risk).
  • Proven ability to translate contract metrics into clinical action plans —driving results through collaboration with frontline providers and care teams.
  • Experience presenting and achieving measurable outcomes under value-based agreements (please be prepared to share examples in your application/interview).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, nursing, business, public health, or related field ( Master’s preferred ).
  • 3+ years of quality improvement experience in healthcare; 2+ years supporting value-based/risk-based contracts strongly preferred .
  • Knowledge of CMS/DOH standards, regulatory compliance, and integrated care models.
  • Advanced skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and healthcare contract negotiation.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is a plus.
  • Strong communicator, collaborator, and change agent.
