The Commissions Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing the operational processes tied to agent compensation in the life insurance, annuity, disability, and long-term care (LTC) product space. This role blends analytical expertise with strong operational execution, ensuring commission payouts are accurate, timely, and compliant with internal compensation structures.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Tracking and Excel Proficiency
This role encompasses the tracking of data and the application of basic Excel formulas. A critical skill for success in this position is the ability to read and interpret commission statements, along with a strong familiarity with the diverse styles of various carriers. Additionally, responsibilities include data entry and the creation of accounts payable invoices based on the collected data.
Chargeback Management
The position requires an understanding of chargebacks and the ability to address them effectively; as well as collaborate with numerous carriers.
Knowledge of Life and Annuity Commissions
A diverse understanding of Life and Annuity commission statements is essential. Responsible for creating reports that keep leadership informed about the funds required in advance.
Commission Schedules and Producer Payouts
Understand commission schedules in relation to producer payouts. This knowledge is tied closely to agency contracting, and you will work to create consistency in how producer contracts are structured and how they correlate with compensation.
Embracing Multi-Tasking and Initiative
The ability to multitask and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
