Job Description

Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Department Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

A leading North American manufacturer is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to join their Maintenance team near Victorville, California. With decades of industry experience, our company prioritizes safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and preventive/predictive maintenance on plant electrical equipment.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to all safety and company policies and promotion of a safety-first culture.
  • Compliance with OSHA safety requirements and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair 480V 3-phase power systems.
  • Installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures using hand and power tools.
  • Inspection of electrical systems for hazards, defects, and code compliance.
  • Installation of conduit and pulling of insulated wires through conduits.
  • Planning and executing electrical installations based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Evaluation of equipment operation and identification of potential hazards.
  • Calibration of welding machines and recording of maintenance activities.
  • Proficiency in PLCs and computerized maintenance management software.
  • Participation in lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
  • Root cause analysis of equipment failures using structured problem-solving methods.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Verification of repaired machinery and equipment functionality.
  • Cleaning and lubrication of machinery parts.
  • Reading and interpreting technical documents and manuals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in soldering and operation of basic shop equipment.
  • Possession of basic hand tools and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Windows environment, spreadsheets, and word processing.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent technical training.
  • 6-8 years of relevant experience in industrial electrical maintenance.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with computer-operated devices and maintenance management software.
  • Basic knowledge of email, text messaging, and internet research.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Valid State Driver's License.
  • Certifications in Fork Truck operation, Aerial Man lifts, and Crane Operation.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings as needed.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands including lifting up to 100
