Job Description

Leading engineering firm, specializing in large-scale civil infrastructure projects nationwide, is seeking a Civil Engineering Project Manager This individual will have the opportunity to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions for transportation, utilities, environmental, and other critical civil engineering projects. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Civil Project Engineer that can contribute to the success of multiple projects across the country.

Position Overview:

As a Civil Project Manager, you will play a key role in the successful execution of large civil engineering projects, working across various sectors and locations nationwide. The role will involve extensive travel to project sites, requiring you to collaborate closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of high-quality work. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and budget constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Assist in the planning, design, and execution of large civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Engineering Design & Analysis: Work with the design team to develop and review engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports. Perform calculations and analysis to support design decisions.
  • Site Supervision & Quality Control: Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
  • Coordination & Communication: Liaise with clients, contractors, local authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, drawings, and change orders. Ensure that all project records are accurate and up to date.
  • Budget & Schedule Management: Monitor project budgets and schedules, providing regular updates and identifying potential risks or delays. Assist in resolving issues that may arise during the construction phase.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all project activities adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices to maintain a safe working environment on-site.
  • Travel Requirements: Due to the nationwide scope of our projects, extensive travel to job sites will be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in project engineering, with a focus on large-scale civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, bridges, utilities, or land development).
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with project management software and tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex engineering problems in the field.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but not required
  • Experience in construction management or contract administration.
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and green building design.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local construction codes and regulations.
