Job Description

CCAT is looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Trainer to join our Talent and Training Accelerator (TnTx) Team to drive adoption of automated workflows, methods, and practices in the manufacturing supply base by conducting a mix of classroom, virtual, and experiential hands-on training. At CCAT, the Trainer will be responsible for delivering training related to manufacturing companies and their personnel. The Trainer will also work with the Chief Talent & Training Officer (CTRO), software and hardware training providers, and in-house CCAT subject matter experts (SME’s) to develop and deliver the curriculum. The Trainer will be based out of CCAT’s regional Talent and Training Accelerator Facility located in East Hartford, Connecticut. As a Technical Trainer, you will play a crucial role in developing the manufacturing workforce of the future. The primary responsibility will be to leverage technical expertise in design, manufacturing technologies, processes, systems, and platforms to support the development and delivery of high-quality training to the current manufacturing workforce. This role will be hired at the Assistant, Full, or Senior level dependent upon experience levels for the areas indicated above.

Responsibilities for CCAT Training Staff Members

· Provide dynamic teaching, training, and assessments that require knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques.

· Conduct formal classroom training on advanced manufacturing technologies including the development, programming, operation, and maintenance of highly automated production systems.

· Prepare, review, and customize curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides to support traditional classroom and virtual online teaching.

· Support course reviews and curriculum updates, conduct training gap analysis, and provide formal feedback and recommendations for course improvements.

· Establish and review course content and objectives.

· Conduct training sessions and develop criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.

· Partner with CCAT’s technical and subject matter experts (SME’s) and Chief Talent & Training Officer (CTRO) to continuously improve the training offerings and strategy for the Talent & Training Accelerator.

· Ensure environmental and safety policies and procedures are followed in all training labs and classrooms.

· Contribute to the development of equipment safety procedures based upon engineering and technology expertise and industry standards.

Additional Responsibilities for CCAT Advanced Manufacturing Technical Trainer

· Exercise and Curriculum Development. Lead the development of design and manufacturing workflows in the TnTx Facility and Advanced Technology Center (ATC) for the purposes of developing high quality examples, demonstrations, and hands-on activities to demonstrate best practices, and develop associated curriculum and work instructions:

· Design Engineering and Definition. 3D CAD models with embedded Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) to replace traditional 2D drawings, ensuring clarity, precision, and interoperability.

· Advanced Manufacturing & Process Integration. MBD-driven automation to generate machine toolpaths, programs, and additive manufacturing instructions directly from digital models.

· Quality & Inspection in a Digital Manufacturing Environment. Model-based inspection processes using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), 3D scanning, etc. to validate processes.

· System Integration & Lifecycle Management. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) with Model-based Enterprise principles to create a digital thread.

Required Skills and Knowledge for CCAT Training Staff Members

· Bachelor’s degree in a technical field related to engineering or manufacturing. Note: total experience can be considered for degree substitution.

· Minimum of 4 years’ experience working in design, manufacturing, or inspection-quality assurance environments as an engineer, designer, or supervisor, or engineering manager, with engineering management experience preferred.

· Experience using Siemens digital engineering and manufacturing software (Siemens NX) and working with PLM (Siemens Teamcenter) and CAD interoperable files formats (STEP, QIF, etc.)

· Minimum 2 years’ experience in teaching or training in a technical or manufacturing environment.

· Must have experience in classroom teaching and curriculum development for college level courses or for courses geared to working professionals.

· Microsoft Office Suite skills.

· Strong technical writing, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

· Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
